I then removed the gearbox, still the same, and with lots of oil sloshing about, but thanks alphonso, it looked really good inside. Hi kallam good call, today I first stripped off motor, as I thought it may have a brake fitted, hence stiff, with this gone and still no difference, ps my turret does not seem to have a brake fitted to end of motor. finally if I index turret manually up to now I don't think it has unclamped, but it still sounds laboured, any help would be very much appreciated.
machine now unclamps after 1 or 25 indexes, and has also hunted, before unclamp ie oscillated back and to 3 degrees for a few seconds around the new tool change position, which is no good at all. finally today I took the aluminium back plate off to get at prox switch, and felt that the turret drive motor was quite warm for the small amount of time it had been indexing before it unclamped. because it is used irregularly it is hard to say, but I am sure on index/tool change, sometimes the motor sounds laboured, like its trying very hard to index? and when unclamped, I can spin the turret by hand, but I cant for example push it round with one finger, and prefer to use both hands, is this normal, it only feels like you are spinning up the turret motor, which you are, but how hard should it be, and today, breaker Q5 tripped out, alarm 1017 turret overload, and I have also seen turret to slow? any ideas? it seems to me something is a bit stiff, and on occasion machine has not been run for several months, but a week ago it must have indexed a few thousand times without bother,I don't want to tear it down for no good reason, and I am hopeless on electronics and all I can see is the 2 proximity sensors, if I disconnect either one, and put a meter across terminals, what do I set meter at, and will it confirm if busted, ie shorted open circuit I am lost. Magazine barfeed.Hi help what do I do, my turret wont index properly,keeps unclamping after initiating a new tool change in auto cycle, ie alarm 1021 turret unclamp, if I then power down, and then restart, and at the same time press the tool change index button, it usually homes, and It will then run normally for 1 or several parts, ive had a look inside via the solenoid valve on top, and checked springs under solenoid valve pin, it returns smoothly, although 20 years old,machine total,has only done a few thousand hours, so inside is still being run in.
